Our strong recommendation is to speak to an Adjustable Bed Mattress Specialist who will recommend you the right Mattress for an Adjustable Bed based on your specific requirements and preferences.
Typically, all Adjustable Bed Mattresses – whether you are buying an inner-coil, Foam, Gel infused foam, Memory Foam, Gel-infused Memory Foam or Latex should address the following:
Bendability and flexibility: The mattress you are buying should be specifically designed to withstand years of bending and flexing on an Adjustable Bed. Regular mattresses should not be used with adjustable beds.
Support: The mattress you are buying should provide you the right support. Your hips need to be supported. If your hips sink too far into a mattress, this can lead to an added curvature of your lower back and result in your waking up with back pain.
Health: How you feel when you wake up is very important. YOU DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP WITH PAIN YOU DID NOT GO TO BED WITH; YOU DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP SORE, OR PARTS OF YOUR BODY ASLEEP. Before you buy a mattress, let the Adjustable Bed Mattress Specialist know about any arthritis, back pain, bone, muscle, nerve pain or any other health issue who can help you to find the right Support and Comfort levels for you.
Comfort: When you buy a mattress you want the mattress to be as comfortable as possible. It should feel GREAT! Why do people toss and turn on a mattress? Because a normal mattress makes you lose circulation and puts pressure and soreness on parts of your body that you have to relieve by tossing and turning. CNC cut engineered core and cushions provides improved pressure-relieving, enhanced air-flow through the mattress and superior lumbar support. No tossing and turning!
Temperature Regulation: Your body is at 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit (37*C). Room temperature is at the bottom 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21*C). If the mattress does not allow for heat dissipation your body can heat up the mattress to your body temperature. Typically, you sleep hot with memory foam. Gel infused foam/ memory foam mattresses helps in regulating temperature. Engineered channels and cushions minimize trapping of heat within the mattress.
Firmness: What is your personal preference? Do you like Plush, Medium Firm or Firm? Know that firm mattresses aren’t always better for your back. Think twice before buying a hard or firm mattress, as research has shown that the best mattress for low back pain is a medium firm mattress rather than a firm mattress. There is a difference between firm support and firm feel. You want firm support with a comfortable feel. To determine what is the best firmness is for you, an Adjustable Bed Mattress Specialist is going to ask you: How much do you weigh? How old are you? (in general, people over 65 years old like almost one degree softer); Do you have a Bad Back? (most people with a Bad Back like to stay Firmer; Do you have Arthritis? ) (we find people with Arthritis usually want to go with the Gel Foam/ Latex over Innerspring).
Warranty. A good mattress will have a minimum of a 10 year full replacement or non-prorated warranty.
Comfort Guarantee: This is a good option. Ask for it before you buy, and be sure you understand the details, such as whether you’re required to pay shipping, if it includes exchange, if you must return the mattress within a certain time frame, etc.
Protect your investment. Always get a waterproof mattress protector. Stains will void your warranty.
